Important Notice

Dear Girls,

We are at the final stretch, the year is almost over. Unfortunately there are only 3 more BMC meetings, the last meeting taking place May 25th. For the culmination of Bat Mitzvah Club we are having a elegant Mother Daughter Banquet. In order for this event to be beautiful I need your participation. We will be singing a stunning song, showing appreciation to our wonderful moms, along with many other things. Please try your hardest to attend the next 2 club meetings where we will practice and prepare. I can't wait to see each and every one of you.

You girls are awesome!

Reflection

Hashem gave the Jewish nation the Torah which includes many Mitzvos. Mitzvos are compared to a channel through which Hashems Blessings flow. Like a rope, it connects us to Hashem and strengthens our relationship. Sometimes it may be very difficult for us to choose to do a Mitzvah. After Bat Mitzvah the part of us that wants to reach Hashem becomes stronger. It enables us to make the right choice and come out of the battle of conflict, victorious.

Challah Making

Reflections

Bread is a basic survival food. When we bake bread to feed ourselves, it is a Mitzvah to take off a piece to give to Hashem. Separating Challah helps us remember to share our most vital and important things as a way of thanking Hashem and reminding ourselves that whatever we have is to share. Its not "me first" but "after you," it turns a regular loaf of bread into meaningful challah.

Reflections

When you give a gift to a friend, you hope they will show you their appreciation by using your gift to the max. The talents that we posses are gifts from Hashem. In Hashems eyes, we are all trustworthy and deserving. To show Hashem our appreciation we need to use our talents to help other people and bring happiness to the world.

Reflections

Sarah was the first woman to light the Shabbat Candles. Her candles burned from when she light them friday afternoon, untill the following friday afternoon. It was a great miracle. All week long, they made everything in her home shine-everything they ate, everything they owned, and everything they did. She passed that power on to her great-granddaughters for all generations. From these Shabbat Candles, we get the power to overcome any problems we may face in the coming week.
When one Jewish girl lights a single candle just before sunset on friday, says a blessing and a heartfelt prayer, she is not alone. She is lighting together with all the Jewish mothers and daughters for hundreds of generations. Now that is a awesome amount of light. The peace, joy and happiness that is brought about from lighting the Shabbat candles, is totally worth it. Try it and see for yourself.

Reflection

Sarah the first of our Imahot(mother of all mothers), overcame the challenges which came her way, by looking at the bright side. As Sarahs daughter, each Jewish Woman and Girl has that same amazing ability, to turn hardships into hope and dark moments into bright ones.
